RESOLUTION NO. 2026-054
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ATASCADERO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING TEMPORARY ROAD
CLOSURES AND RESTRICTIONS FOR 2026 COLONY DAYS PARADE
ROUTE
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Atascadero that the 2026 Colony
Days Parade is scheduled for October 17, 2026, and the parade route is hereby established to begin
at the intersection of Lewis Avenue/West Mall traveling south on Lewis Avenue/Capistrano
Avenue to Highway 41, then west to El Camino Real, then north to Entrada Avenue, then east and
ending at Lewis Avenue. Additionally, West Mall from Lewis Avenue to Olmeda Avenue and
Olmeda Avenue from Traffic Way to West Mall will be closed for Colony Days Parade staging
area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in order to provide a closed route for the Parade, the
area described above is designated as a “No Parking” and tow-away zone from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00
p.m. on the aforementioned date of the Parade.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer is authorized to make
modifications to the above road restrictions and associated traffic control plan as necessary to
address conflicts, improve efficiencies, and for public health, welfare, and safety purposes.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 14th day
of July, 2026.
On motion by Council Member Funk and seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Dariz, the foregoing
Resolution is hereby adopted in its entirety on the following roll call vote:
AYES: Council Member Funk, Newsom, Peek, Mayor Pro Tem Dariz, Mayor Bourbeau
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
