AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ATASCA-
DERO ADDING CHAPTER 16 TO TITLE 2 OF THE ATASCADERO
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO CITY COUNCIL SALARIES.
The Council of the City of Atascadero does ordain as follows:
Section 1. That Chapter 16 be added to Title 2 of the Atascadero
Municipal Code relating to City Council salaries to read as follows:
Chapter 16. Council Salaries.
Sec. 2-16,01. authority.
The provisions of this chapter are enacted pursuant to
the provisions of sections 36516 and 36516.2 of the Government
Code of the State which established the salaries for Council
members in general law cities having a population over 5,000
and up to and including 35#000r and provide for yearly adjust-
ments of such salaries.
Sec. 2-16,02. Salaries.
Each member of the Council shall receive a salary of One
Hundred Fifty and No/100ths Dollars ($150.00) per calendar
month, commencing July 1. 1984 and terminating December 31,
1984, and a salary of Three Hundred and No/100ths Dollars
($300.00) per calendar month, commencing January 1. 1985 and
thereafter.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall cause this ordinance to be pub-
lished once within fifteen (15) days after its passage in the Atasca-
dero News, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and
circulated in this City in accordance with Government Code section
36933; shall certify the adoption of this ordinance; and shall cause
this ordinance and its certification to be entered in the Book of
Ordinances of this City.
Section 3. This ordinance shall go into effect and be in full
force and effect at 12:01 A.M. on the thirty-first (31st) day after
its passage, but shall apply retroactively to include the service of
any Council member commencing with the commencement of the fiscal year
on July 1, 1984.
The foregoing ordinance was introduced on August 130 19R4 and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held on Aiiqii-,;t 22 , 1 A84
