Adjourned Regular Meeting
November 30, 1981 7: 30 p.m.
Atascadero Administration Building
Mayor Wilkins called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. He noted
that the meeting was called to review and determine various ,alterna-
tives for establishing a permanent Police Department facility.
Murray Warden reviewed the six alternatives outlined by memo-
randum to Council. These Alternatives include renovation of the base-
ment in the Administration Building, using and remodeling the Masonic
Lodge, renovation of the Adult Library and Rooms 201, 202, and 203 in
the Administration Building, using the Century Federal Savings and
Loan Building on Traffic Way, construction of a new facility, and ren-
ovation of the Adult and Children's Library areas. Mr . Warden re-
viewed the advantages, disadvantages and costs of each alternative.
Comments were heard from Nick Dejong, Livia Kellerman, Maggie
Rice, John Cole, Norman Norton, Mel Donald, Jerry Bond, Joann Benjamin
and Blake Wideman. Their comments generally favored building the Po-
lice Department a new facility.
There was considerable discussion among Council members.
Mr . Warden pointed out the what it would involve to build anew facil-
ity; a bond issue, selling the bonds, etc.
' The meeting adjourned at 8: 55 p.m. with no action taken by
Council.

Council will hold an adjourned regular meeting on
Monday, November 30, 1981, at 7 :30 p.m. in the Rotunda
rRoom, fourth floor of the Administration Building,
Atascadero, California. This meeting is to discuss
location of Police Department facilities.
