UPDATE: 2019 Pavement Resurfacing Project
The City of Atascadero is working closely with the contractor to provide an update to the schedule of
resurfacing work associated with the 2019 Roadway Resurfacing Project. Please note that the resurfacing
will be occurring on El Camino Real over the weekend of June 29-30. Since traffic volume through this
portion of El Camino Real is lower on the weekend, impacts on travel time will be minimized. Following
is the updated schedule:
Thursday, June 27th
San Anselmo Road From El Camino Real to Dolores Ave.
Santa Rosa Road From Hwy 41 to Atascadero Ave. (1/2 width)
Friday, June 28th
Santa Barbara Road From San Antonio Road to Viejo Camino (1/2 width)
Curbaril Avenue From Hwy 41 to 101
San Jacinto Avenue From El Camino Real to Nogales Ave. (1/2 width)
Saturday, June 29th
El Camino Real (inside lanes) From Hwy 41 to San Anselmo Rd. (East)
Sunday, June 30th
El Camino Real (outside lanes) From Hwy 41 to San Anselmo Rd. (East)
Monday, July 1st

Should there be unexpected conditions or weather constraints, exact dates may change. The City will
update the schedule if changes are required.
Finally, the contractor will be posting no parking signage prior to resurfacing. Please be advised that
vehicles on posted roadways during resurfacing operations will be towed at the owner’s expense.

2019 Pavement Resurfacing Project
The City of Atascadero will begin work on the 2019 Pavement Resurfacing Project on Monday, June 17th.
The work performed by the City’s contractor during the week of the 17th will be minor, consisting of
striping removal in preparation for microsurfacing. Microsurfacing will take place from June 26th through
July 3rd. The contractor will provide traffic control for the preparatory work, and delays are expected to
be limited.
The City is currently working with the contractor to establish a schedule for roadway resurfacing
beginning June 26th. Delays are likely to be more significant during resurfacing due to cure time required
for a quality, finished product. The City website will be updated with the latest information regarding
timing of street closures as the start date approaches. Roadways that are a part of this project include:
El Camino Real from Hwy. 41 to San Anselmo Rd. (East)
San Anselmo Road (East) from El Camino Real to Dolores Ave.
San Jacinto Ave. from El Camino Real to Nogales Ave.
Curbaril Ave. from Hwy. 41 to 101
Santa Rosa Road from Hwy. 41 to 101
Santa Barbara Road from San Antonio Rd. to Viejo Camino
Viejo Camino from Santa Barbara Rd. to Halcon Rd.
