RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ATASCADERO
DESIGNATING A NO PARKING ZONE ON THE EAST SIDE OF
EL CAMINO REAL BETWEEN EAST MALL AND WEST MALL
WHEREAS, Section 4-2 . 1101, et. seq. , of the Atascadero
Municipal Code allows the City Traffic Engineer to designate "No
Parking" areas, and to place and maintain appropriate signs or
markings indicating the same; and
WHEREAS, this portion of El Camino Real is currently under
the jurisdiction of the California Department of Transportation
(Caltrans) ; and
WHEREAS, the Caltrans Engineering office has approved the
request to designate this section a No Parking Zone; and
WHEREAS, the Traffic Committee has determined that
establishing a No Parking zone on the east side of El Camino
Real between East and West Mall will provide for increased
traffic safety.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Atascadero
directs the City Traffic Engineer to place and maintain
appropriate signs or markings as indicated in the attached
"Exhibit "A" .
On motion by Councilmember Luna, and seconded by
Councilmember Lerno, the foregoing resolution is hereby adopted
in its entirety on the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Lerno, Luna and Mayor Pro Tem Carden
NOES: Councilmember Clay
ABSENT: Mayor Johnson
