A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ATASCADERO
APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE GENERAL PLAN LAND USE ELEMENT
BY AMENDING THE INDUSTRIAL PARK LAND USE DESCRIPTION
AND THE LAND USE MAP DESIGNATION FROM
INDUSTRIAL PARK TO COMMERCIAL PARK ON PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 2600 EL CAMINO REAL
(GPA 96003; Johns/Churchill)
WHEREAS, the City of Atascadero has grown considerably since
incorporation; and
WHEREAS, the City's General Plan Land Use Element, which was adopted in
1992 to guide the City's general growth, needs to be revised with respect to the
subject property; and
WHEREAS; the Planning Commission of the City of Atascadero conducted a
public hearing on the proposed General Plan amendment on September 3, 1996;
and
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 65356 provides that a General Plan
be amended by the adoption of a resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Atascadero finds as follows:
1 . The proposed General Plan amendment recommended by the Planning
Commission is consistent with the goals and policies of the General
Plan.
2. The proposed General Plan amendment will not have a significant
affect on the environment. The Negative Declaration prepared for the
project is adequate.
THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Atascadero does resolve to approve
General Plan Amendment 96003 as follows:
1 . Amendment to the Land Use Text as shown on the attached Exhibit
A.
2. Amendment to the Land Use Map as shown on the attached
Exhibit B.

On motion by Councilmember Johnson and seconded by Councilmember
Carden , the foregoing resolution is hereby adopted in its entirety by the following
roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Carden, Johnson, Luna and Mayor Highland
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmember Bewley
