From: Jerry L. Ferguson Subject: Traffic Committee Appointment Thank you for considering this brief memo instead of a personal interview since I am attending a management conference in Los Angeles. My absence at this time is not indicative of my ability to serve on the Traffic Committee if selected by you. I am requesting appointment to the Traffic Committee for the following reasons: 1. As a law enforcement officer in five different agencies over the past 23 years, I have been involved in many traffic collision investigations and traffic control situations; therefore, I believe I can bring breadth and depth of experience to the Traffic Committee. 2. As a current Reserve Police Officer with the City of Atascadero, I have the • in the past two years spent considerable time patrolling the streets of the city; therefore, I believe I can bring familiarity of the city and its various traffic patterns and needs to the Traffic Committee. 3. As the pastor of Atascadero Church of the Nazarene, I place high emphasis on strong citizen participation in community affairs and therefore believe that my participation on the Traffic Committee would model that emphasis. 4. I have flexibility of schedule and would therefore be able to attend the regularly scheduled meetings of the Traffic Committee. I am regularly mobile in the community and would therefore be able to do the necessary research in preparation for the meetings. I will be back in Atascadero on January 20th and will make myself available if you have need for further information. Again, thank you for considering my appointment to the Traffic Committee. Jerry L.
