PUBLIC NOTICE
ATASCADERO CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Atascadero City Council will
meet in open session at 3 :30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 1990, for
the purpose of adoption of the following resolutions pertinent to
the next General Municipal Election, scheduled to be held on June
5, 1990: (1) Resolution calling and giving notice of election
and, ( 2) Resolution requesting consolidation with the County of
San Luis Obispo. In considering said resolutions, the Council
will discuss whether or not to place on the ballot the question
of whether the Offices of City Clerk and City Treasurer should be
appointive or remain elective. Said meeting shall be held in the
City Manager' s Office, Rm. 207, City Administration Building,
6500 Palma Ave.

This agenda is prepared and posted pursuant to the require-
ments of Government Code Section 54954 . 2 . By listing a topic on
this agenda, the City Council has expressed its intent to discuss
and act on each item. In addition to any action identified in
the brief general description of each item, the action that may
be taken shall include: A referral to staff with specific re-
quests for information; continuance; specific direction to staff
concerning the policy or mission of the item; discontinuance of
consideration; authorization to enter into negotiations and exe-
cute agreements pertaining to the item; adoption or approval;
and, disapproval.
Copies of the staff reports or other documentation relating
to each item of business referred to on the agenda are on file in
the office of the City Clerk, available for public inspection
during City Hall business hours . The City Clerk will answer any
questions regarding the agenda.
RULES OF PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:
* Members of the audience may speak on any item on the agenda.
* A person may speak for five (5) minutes.
* No one may speak for a second time until everyone wishing to
speak has had an opportunity to do so.
* No one may speak more than twice on any item.
* Council Members may question any speaker; the speaker may
respond but, after the allotted time has expired, may not
initiate further discussion.
* The floor will then be closed to public participation and
open for Council discussion.

1. DISCUSSION TO CONSIDER WHETHER OR NOT THE COUNCIL WISHES TO
PLACE ON THE JUNE 5TH, 1990, BALLOT THE QUESTION OF WHETHER
THE OFFICES OF CITY CLERK AND CITY TREASURER SHOULD BE
APPOINTIVE OR REMAIN ELECTIVE
2. CALL ELECTION AND REQUEST CONSOLIDATION WITH THE COUNTY OF
SAN LUIS OBISPO:
A. Resolution No. 27-90 - Calling and giving notice of the
holding of a General Municipal Election to be held on
Tuesday, June 5, 1990, for the purpose of the election
of certain officers as required by the provisions of
the Laws of the State of California relating to General
Law cities
B. Resolution No. 26-90 - Requesting the Board of Super-
visors of the County of San Luis Obispo to consolidate
a General Municipal Election to be held on June 5,
1990 with the Statewide Primary Election to be held on
the date pursuant to Section 23302 of the Elections
Code
