' RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ATASCADERO
REQUESTING THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND
' FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO APPROVE A FEDERAL AID
URBAN PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF ATASCADERO
The following resolution is now offered and read:
WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has in the 1982 U.S.
Surface Transportation Act declared it to be in the national interest
' for Federal funds to be expended for highway projects on the Federal
Aid Urban System; and
WHEREAS, before Federal Aid will be available for urban system
projects within the urban area, the Federal Aid Urban Project must be
designated,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1) The City Council of the City of Atascadero request that the
proposed Federal Aid Project as shown on the attached Exhibits
be approved by the State Department of Transportation and the
Federal Highway Administration as a Federal Aid Urban Project.
2) Copies of this Resolution shall be forwarded to San Luis Obispo
County Engineering Department for transmittal to the California
Department of Transportation.
On motion by Councilman Wilkins and seconded by Councilman Mackey
the foregoing resolution is hereby adopted in its entirety on the following
' vote:
AYES: Councilmen Mackey , Molina , Stover , Wilkins and Mayor Nelson
NOES: None
ABSENT: None

City of Atascadero Public Works Department Proposed Federal
Aid Urban Program for the Urban Area of the City of Atascadero
PROJECT: E1 Camino Real - West Mall to Santa Cruz Road
For approximately 0.9 mile between West Mall and San Anselmo
Road, repair and overlay existing 4-lane road with 0.2' of Type
B asphalt concrete. From San Anselmo Road to Santa Cruz Road
for a distance of approximately 2.3 miles, overlay existing 2-
lane road with 0.2' of Type B asphalt concrete. Project in-
cludes preparation of roadway surface for overlay as well as
' raising sewer manholes and survey monuments.
PROJECT COST: $350,000
