RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ATASCADERO GREYHOUNDS
CIF 1982 DESERT-MOUNTAIN CONFERENCE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS
WHEREAS, the Atascadero Greyhounds have defeated in the CIF
Desert-Mountain Conference Football Championships:
El Segundo 39-0
Agoura 21-8
Perris 21-6
St. Genevieve 21-6
and;
WHEREAS, the Greyhounds won, on December 13, 1982, the CIF play-
off against the St. Genevieve Valiants, 21-6; and
WHEREAS, the Greyhounds have had 14 straight victories during the
1982 football season; and
WHEREAS, the Greyhounds, through the actions of their coaches and
team members, have consistently adhered to the highest principles of
sportsmanship and fair play thereby bringing credit to themselves,
their school and their community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Atascadero City Council that
the Atascadero Greyhounds are commended for their sportsmanship and
skill and for their adherance to the principles of teamwork and ex-
pression of school spirit; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council extends its congratula-
tions, on behalf of the City, to Coach Larry Welsh for his efforts in
achieving these results; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following 1982 Atascadero Grey-
hounds are individually recognized for their accomplishments:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following Coaches are also com-
mended and recognized for their efforts in achieving the outstanding
successes of the Atascadero Greyhound Football Team:

On motion by Councilman Wilkins and seconded by Councilman
Mackey the foregoing resolution is hereby adopted in its
' entirety on the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmen Mackey, Molina, Stover, Wilkins and Mayor Nelson
