i A RESOLUTION OF THE ATASCADERO CITY COUNCIL
APPROVING THE ABANDONMENT OF MADERA PLACE
BETWEEN EL CAMINO REAL AND FREEWAY 101

WHEREAS, the Atascadero Planning Commission conducted a public
hearing on the requested road abandonment and adopted Resolution
No. 9-81 recommending approval; and
WHEREAS, the Atascadero City Council has conducted a public
hearing on the requested abandonment; and
WHEREAS, the application as submitted will not have a signi-
ficant effect upon the environment and the preparation of an
Environmental Impact Report is not necessary; and
WHEREAS, no beneficial purpose would be accomplished by the
retention of a public road in the current location of Madera Place;
and
' WHEREAS, abandonment of Madera Place is consistent with Land
Use and Circulation Elements of the 1980 Atascadero General Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Atascadero City Council
does hereby approve the abandonment of Madera Place between El Camino
Real and Freeway 101, subject to the following conditions:
1. The northerly portion of the right-of-way to the center
line of Madera Place (also called Conejo Road) shall be-
come part of Lot 7 and the southerly portion to the
centerline of Madera Place shall become part of Lot 6 .
2. Any existing utility or similar easements for poles,
conduits, irrigation ditches, waterlines, etc. , are not
affected by this road abandonment.
3 . The applicants shall submit title information to the
satisfaction of the Planning Department to verify that
the road to be abandoned has previously been offered or
accepted for public road purposes .
