RESOLUTION OF THE ATASCADERO CITY COUNCIL
APPROVING APPLICATION FOR 1980 STATE GRANT MONIES
FOR ,THE ALVORD FIELD IMPROVEMENTPROJECT
WHEREAS theeo le of the State of California have enacted

the California Parklands Act of 1980, which provides funds to the
State of California and its political subdivisions for acquiring
lands and for developing facilities for public recreation and
historical purposes; and
WHEREAS said procedures established by the State Department
of Parks and Recreation require the City Council to certify, by
resolution, the approval of applications prior to submission of
said applications to the State; and
WHEREAS, the City of Atascadero wishes to install certain
improvements in lighting and watering systems, spectator and playing
facilities at the recreation facility known as Alvord Field; and
WHEREAS, the City of Atascadero wishes to use funds available
through the California Parklands Act of 1980 to help pay for the
cost of these improvements; and
' WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the applicant
must comply with; and
WHEREAS, the City of Atascadero will enter into an agreement
with the StateofCalifornia for the acquisition and/or development
of the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Atascadero City Council:
1. Approves the filing of an application for 1980 State grant
assistance for said project; and
2. Certifies that the City Council understands the assurances
and certification in the application'; and
3. Certifies that the City of Atascadero has or will ,have
sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project; and.
4. Certifies that the City of Atascadero has reviewed and
understands the General Provisions contained in the State/
local agreement; and
5. Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City to conduct
all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including
but not limited to applications,, agreements , amendments,
payment requests, and so on which may be necessary for the
completion of the aforementioned project.

On motion by Councilman Stover and seconded by Councilman
Nelson , the foregoing resolution is hereby adopted in its
entirety on the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmen Mackey, Nelson, Stover and Mayor Wilkins
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Highland
ABSTAIN: None
