City Hall Council Chambers 6907 EI Camino Real, Atascadero, California CALL TO ORDER - 7:00 PM Vice Chairperson Greenaway called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. and Commissioner Pittenger led the Pledge of Allegiance. R01 I CAI I Present: Commissioners DeCarli, May, Pittenger, Vice Chairperson Greenaway, Chairperson Seay Absent: Commissioner Zirk and Commissioner Butz (commissioner Butz arrived at 7:38 pm) Others Present: Recording Secretary Bonnie Williams Staff Present: Community Services Director Brady Cherry and Recreation Supervisor Jennifer Fanning SPECIAL PRESENTATION - None COMMUNITY FORUM - None APPROVAL OF AGENDA MOTION: By Commissioner DeCarli and seconded by Vice Chairperson Greenaway to approve the Agenda. Motion passed 5:0 by a roll -call vote. COMMISSION ANNOUNCEMENTS AND REPORTS Chairperson Seay was pleased with the new Bocce Ball Court. CONSENT CALENDAR 1. Parks and Recreation Commission Minutes — August 16, 2012 ■ Recommendation: Commission approves the Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting minutes of the August 16, 2012 meeting. [Community Services] PUBLIC COMMENT — None MOTION: By Commissioner May and seconded by Commissioner DeCarli to approve Consent Calendar Motion passed 3:0:2 by a roll -call vote. (Pittenger and Seay abstained) MANAGEMENT REPORTS 1. Salinas River Corridor Anza Trail Master Plan Public Inout for Atascadero ■ Fiscal Impact: None ■ Recommendation: Commission plan public hearing(s) as may be necessary, and form a Trail Master Plan Ad Hoc Advisory group of not more than eight (8) people to review and provide input for Atascadero during the Anza Trail Master Plan process. [Community Services] Community Services Director - Brady Cherry provided a presentation on the project and answered questions of the Commission. (Commissioner Butz arrived at 7:38 pm) PUBLIC COMMENT — The following people spoke during the public comment: Jonalee Istenes and Lindsey Hampton. MOTION: By Vice Chairperson Greenaway and seconded by Chairperson Seay to appoint Commissioner May and Commissioner DeCarli for the Ad Hoc Advisory group and to allow staff to recruit members of the public to join the Committee. Motion passed 6:0 by a roll -call vote. COMMITTEE & LIASON REPORTS - None. STAFF COMMENTS/ ANNOUNCEMENTS Vice Chairperson Greenaway stated her concerns regarding the serious crime and problems that have been taking place at the Sunken Gardens. Brady stated that the police are giving a lot of attention to this issue. 1.
