This is an informational meeting, and no actions will be taken.) Atascadero Parks and Recreation Commission Thursday, May 19, 2011, 0:00 P.M. Colony Park Community Center Atascader®, California lip Tour begins at the Colony Park Community Center Chairperson Zirk called the meeting to order at 6:06 p.m. ROLL CALL: Present: Chairperson Zirk, Commissioners DeCarli, Seay, Joslin and Butz. Absent: Commissioners Greenaway and Wactel Others Present: None. ITEM NUMBER; A -1 DATE: 7121111 Staff Present: Community Services Director Brady Cherry and Recreation Supervisor Jennifer Fanning PUBLIC COMMENT: None APPROVAL OF AGENDA MOTION: By Commissioner Joslin and seconded by Commissioner Butz to approve the Agenda. Motion passed 5:0 by a roll -call vote. PARK AND FACILITIES TOUR: (The purpose of this special meeting was to update Commission member of the facilities owned by the city of Atascadero and tour some of those properties.) Those present listed above met at the Colony Park Community Center for a tour of the facility and a review of the programs and activities. Jennifer Fanning led the tour of the facility. The group proceeded to the George C. Beatie Skate Park. The tour then drove over to the "Adobe Springs" open space property on Traffic Way. Community Services Director Brady Cherry gave the Commissioners some history of the property and discussed the ANTA native tree planting project which discussed on the Commission's last agenda. The group discussed potential future public use of the property, with an emphasis on preserving and enhancing the property's history through interpretive features, etc. The trip concluded at Adobe Springs with daylight running out, and the Stadium Park tour was tabled to a future meeting date.
