RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ATASCADERO ENCOURAGING THE SUPPORT OF MEASURE A
ON THE NOVEMBER 6, 1984 BALLOT
WHEREAS, the City of Atascadero is attracting new residents to
its community as a result of its beautiful climate and quality
living, and
WHEREAS, the City of Atascadero recognizes the importance of
providing facilities and services for its residents commensurate
with their lifestyles, and
WHEREAS, the construction of new school facilities is necessary
to accommodate the continued increased enrollment of this community' s
children, and
WHEREAS, the public school system contributes to the quality of
life in the community by educating our young people and thus con-
tributing to a stronger community, and
WHEREAS, the Atascadero Unified School District has grown to
almost 4,500 students and will continue to grow at a rate reflective
of the growth of the City of Atascadero, and
WHEREAS, the Citizens Committee for Measure A has undertaken to
inform the community and secure its approval of a $35 parcel tax to
be used for the construction of facilities in this community and the
surrounding areas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Atascadero supports the efforts of the Atascadero Unified School
District and the Citizens Committee for Measure A in seeking the
support of its citizens in providing facilities to maintain a quality
program for students in the community.

On motion by Councilman Molina and seconded by Councilman
Handshy , the foregoing resolution is hereby adopted in its
entirety on the following vote:
AYES: Councilwoman Mackey and Norris, Councilman Handshy and Molina and
Mayor Nelson
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ADOPTED: 10-22-84
