ACTION MINUTES

CALL TO ORDER — 4:00 p.m.
Chairperson Fonzi called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Present: Chairperson Fonzi, Committee Member Kelley, Committee Member
DeCarli
Absent: Committee Member Ward
Committee Member Cooper
Recording Secretary: Community Development Director Warren Frace
Staff Present: Assistant Planner Callie Taylor
Others Present: John Puente Jr., Architecture Department, In -N -Out Burger
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
MOTION: By Committee Member Kelley and seconded by Committee
Member DeCarli to approve the Agenda.
Motion passed 3:0 by a roll -call vote. (Ward, Cooper Absent)

CONSENT CALENDAR
(All items on the consent calendar are considered to be routine and non -controversial by City Staff and will
be approved by one motion if no member of the Committee or public wishes to comment or ask questions)
MOTION: By Committee Member Kelley and seconded by Committee
Member Fonzi to approve the Consent Calendar.
Motion passed 3:0 by a Noll -call vote. (Ward, Cooper Absent)
DEVELOPMENT PROJECT REVIEW
1. PLN 2011-1419, IN -N -OUT BURGER, 6000 SAN ANSELMO ROAD
A preliminary review prior to submittal of a building application for proposed
improvements that include a new drive-through canopy to protect cars and workers
from weather, new exterior cladding and paint, and new and replacement paving
striping.
Alfredo Castillo, Assistant Planner, gave the staff report and answered questions from the
Committee.
PUBLIC AND COMMITTEE COMMENTS
Bob Kelley — Looks good.
Susan DeCarli — Exterior lighting (down lights only).
Roberta Fonzi — Paint color, landscape.
Overall — Nice improvement.
Consensus — Okay as is.
Chairperson Fonzi closed the Public Comment period.
MOTION: By Committee Member Fonzi and seconded by Committee
Member Kelley to recommend approval of applicant's changes
to the Planning Commission.
Motion passed 3:0 by a roll -call vote. (Ward, Cooper Absent)

DIRECTOR'S REPORT
• Director Frace stated the following upcoming tentative schedule for DRC:
11-3-11 — Centennial Plaza/Dove Creek
11-10-11 — Jespersen/SLOCOG
Meeting schedule - Bob Kelley suggested moving these meetings to Council weeks (2nd
and 4th Thursdays are best).
ADJOURNMENT — 4:15 p.m.
The next regular meeting of the Design Review Committee is scheduled for November 3, 2011.
