STATE OF CALIFORNIA COUNTY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO CITY OF ATASCADERO Marcia McClure Torgerson, City Clerk, deposes, and says: That she is the City Clerk of the City of Atascadero and that on May 26, 2011, she caused the above Notice to be posted on the doors of the City Hall, 6907 EI Camino Real in Atascadero, California. ]TVA & al M CC4, l 1 Marcia McClure Torgerson, City Clerk City of Atascadero City of Atascadero Finance Committee Thursdays April 28, 2011 3606 p.m. City Ball Council Chambers 6907 El Camino Real, A.tascadero, California CALL TO ORDER: Council Member Fonzi called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. Members Present: Council Members Roberta Fonzi and Bob Kelley, City Treasurer Joe Modica, City Manager Wade McKinney, Administrative Services Director Rachelle Rickard Absent: None Staff Present: Deputy Director of Administrative Services Jeri Rangel, Deputy City Clerk Victoria Randall PUBLIC COMMENT: None BUSINESS: 1. Review of Preliminary Budget Numbers Administrative Services Director Rickard reviewed the preliminary budget numbers reflected in the staff report, and answered questions from the Committee. She explained that more cuts are needed to see us through the economic downturn. Council Member Fonzi suggested the City reconsider the expense of televising Planning Commission meetings. City Manager McKinney discussed other cost-saving options, such as recreational fee adjustments, where appropriate, and permit fee options. He explained that departments have already cut operational costs by at least 5%. City Manager McKinney said that staff will continue refining budget figures, working toward a draft budget to bring back before the Committee. Council Members Fonzi and Kelley commended staff for the thorough report and said they look forward to discussing further.
