A RESOLUTION OF THE ATASCADERO CITY COUNCIL
ADOPTING STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR FOR
COUNCIL AS THE POLICY-MAKING TEAM OF
THE CITY OF ATASCADERO
WHEREAS , it is the expressed desire of the Council to foster
harmonious , constructive and mutually respectful relations among
and between its members and staff; and
WHEREAS , in order to attempt to accomplish these goals ,
Council agrees to adopt and adhere to the following:
1 . Act with professionalism and integrity.
2 . To disagree agreeably in public meetings .
3 . Strive to increase communication within Council .
4 . To support, trust and strive to understand the
Manager and staff .
5 . Not criticize Council members or staff in public .
6 . Not to directly communicate with staff, other than
through the Manager, on matters of policy formula-
tion.
On motion by Councilmember Mackey and seconded by Coun-
cilmember Borgeson the foregoing resolution is hereby adopted
on the following roll-call vote :
AYES: Councilmembers Mackey, Borgeson, Shiers, Lilley and Mayor Dexter
NOES : None
ABSENT one
ADOPTED: 6-27-89
