Chairperson Pacas called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Board Members Luna, O'Malley, Scalise, Clay and Chairperson
Pacas
Absent: None
Others Present: Board Secretary Marcia McClure Torgerson, Recording Secretary

Staff Present: Executive Director Wade McKinney, Assistant City Manager Jim

Services Director Brady Cherry, Police Chief John Couch, Deputy

COMMUNITY FORUM:
Eric Greening questioned the possibility of creating a policy to allow a percentage of
every publicly funded project to go to the arts. Mr. Greening asked about funding for the
protection and/or restoration of the Maidens.
Executive Director McKinney explained that money has been included in the Sunken
Gardens project for protecting the Maidens, not removing them.
Anne Ketcherside raised the issue of pedestrian cross walks and the speed with which
the warning lights change.
Public Works Director Steve Kahn explained how the cross walk warning lights function.

Board Secretary Recommendation: Board approve the Community
Redevelopment Agency minutes of March 8, 2005. [Board Secretary]
MOTION: By Board Member O'Malley and seconded by Board Member
Scalise to approve Item #A-1.
Motion passed 51:0 by a voice vote.
B. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REPORT: Wade McKinney, Executive Director
Executive Director Wade McKinney announced that new light standard heads are now
on two fight poles in front of the Sunken Gardens, and that the fagade program is in full
swing and it is hoped that all projects will be completed by the end of the fiscal year.
Community Deveiopment Director Warren Frace expiained the progress made in regard
to seismic retrofitting.
