A RESOLUTION OF THE ATASCADERO CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH
BLUE SHIELD INSURANCE COMPANY TO PROVIDE MEDICAL,
DENTAL AND LIFE INSURANCE BENEFITS AND
CALIFORNIA CARE HMO TO PROVIDE MEDICAL. BENEFITS
TO THE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, the City's medical, dental and life insurance benefits
program, with New England Life Insurance Company expires on October
31, 1986, the City desires to obtain medical, dental and life in-
surance coverage for its employees as of November 1, 1986; and
WHEREAS, New England Mutual Life Insurance Company has proposed
a forty-nine (49) per cent rate increase to provide these benefits
desired by the City for its employees; and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Atascadero City Council
hereby authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Blue
Shield Insurance Company to provide medical, dental and life insur-
ance benefits and with California Care HMO to provide medical bene-
fits to the employees of the City for a policy year commencing
November 1, 1986 , through October 31, 1987, and to request a Summary
Plan Description from each insurance carrier .
On motion by COUNCILMAN HANDSITY and seconded by COUNCILWOMAN
NORRIS , the foregoing resolution is hereby adopted in its
entirety by the following vote:
