A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ATASCADERO
AMENDING RESOLUTION 21-85
CITY MANAGER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF
EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, on March 18, 1985 , Michael B. Shelton, City
Manager, entered into an employment agreement with the City of
Atascadero; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the terms and
conditions of this agreement;
THEREFORE, be it resolved that:
Section 1 - Term of Employment - Section 1 is amended providing
the terms of this agreement to begin on October 1, 1986 , and
continue for 2 years, ending September 30, 1988 , subject to
conditions and terms set forth.
At least ninety (90) days prior to the expiration of the term of
this agreement, the City Council hereby agrees to notify Michael
B. Shelton, in writing, of it' s intent to renew or not to renew
agreement relationship, as prescribed.
Section 4 - Compensation of Employee - Section 4 is amended
providing a monthly salary of $4 ,630 , effective July 7 1986 ,
and $4,770 effective January 3, 1987.
Section 20 - Evaluation - Section 20 is added providing that
the City Council shall devote a portion of at least one Council
Meeting annually for discussion and evaluation of the perform-
ance and working relationship between the City Manager and the
City Council. This evaluation shall be based on the duties of
the City Manager, as described in Section 2 and mutually agreed
upon City goals and objectives.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that modifications included in
previous amendments to the employment agreement not superseded
are continued.
On motion by Council Person BORGESON and
seconded by NORRIS the foregoing resolution
is hereby adopted in its entirety on the following vote
