A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ATASCADERO ADOPTING INCREASED TRANSIT FIXED ROUTE
FARES
WHEREAS, the City of Atascadero provides public transit services, and,
WHEREAS, the fare increase will help to offset increases in maintenance and contract
costs associated with providing the service and help maintain the required fare box ratio, and,
WHEREAS, increasing the Fixed Route fare will meet a goal of all transit agencies in
the County to standardize fares for local rides, and,
WHEREAS, staff recommends that fixed-route transit fares be increased from $100 to
$1.25 for the General Public and from $ 0.50 to $ 0 60 for Seniors and Disabled riders, and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with Federal Transit Agency mandated policy on making
changes to transit fares, publicized workshops were held on June 8 and 10, 2009, and a public
hearing with the City Council was held on August 11, 2009
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Atascadero to
implement the fare changes as recommended by staff effective September 1, 2009

On motion by Council Member Clay and seconded by Council Member O'Malley, the
foregoing Resolution is hereby adopted in its entirety on the following roll call vote.
AYES Council Members Clay, Fonzi, Kelley, O'Malley and Mayor Beraud
NOES None
ABSENT None
