RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ATASCADERO REDUCING THE SPEED
LIMIT ON ATASCADERO AVENUE FROM 30 MPH TO 25 MPH
WHEREAS, Section 4-2 . 501 et sequence of the Atascadero Municipal
Code allows the City Traffic Engineer to determine the speed limits
of City streets and to place and maintain appropriate signs or
markings indicating the same; and
WHEREAS, the Atascadero Traffic Committee has recommended that
reducing the speed limit on Atascadero Avenue between Highway 41 and
Atascadero Mall from 30 MPH to 25 MPH will conform to the State
Statute setting speed limits in Residential Districts at 25 MPH,
additionally, it has been determined by the Atascadero Police Depart-
ment that a speed limit of 25 MPH is reasonable and prudent for this
location.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Atascadero
directs the City Traffic Engineer to place and maintain appropriate
signs or marking indicating a maximum speed of 25 MPH on Atascadero
Avenue from Highway 41 to Atascadero Mall.
On Motion by COUNCILMAN HANDSITY ,and seconded by COUNCIL-
T'OMAN MACKEY ,the foregoing Resolution is hereby adopted in its
entirety on t e following roll call vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS HANDSITY, MACKEY, MOLINA, NORRIS AND MAYOR NELSON
