A RESOLUTION OF THE ATASCADERO CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH
NEW ENGLAND MUTUAL LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY TO PROVIDE
MEDICAL, DENTAL AND LIFE INSURANCE BENEFITS
TO THE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, the City' s medical, dental and life insurance benefits
program, as part of the Central Coast Cities Joint Powers Agreement
self-insurance fund, will expire on June 30 , 1985 , the City desires
to obtain medical, dental and life insurance coverage for its em-
ployees as of July 1 , 1985; and
WHEREAS, an employee committee representing all recognized bar-
gaining units of the City has selected New England Mutual Life
Insurance Company to provide these benefits desired by the City
for its employees; and
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Atascadero City Council
hereby authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with New Eng-
land Mutual Life Insurance Company to provide medical, dental and
life insurance benefits to the employees of the City for a policy
year commencing July 1 , 1985 ; through June 30 , 1986 , and to request
a Summary Plan Description from New England Life Insurance Company.
On motion by Councilman Molina and seconded by Councilman
Handsh , the foregoing resolution is hereby -adopted in its en-
tirety by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Molina & Handshy, Councilwomen Mackey & Norris
and Mayor Nelson.
NOES: NONE
ABSENT: NONE
