ARGUMENT IN FAVOR OF MEASURE -24 JUN 2 5 2024
Measure -24 is the new F-14.

Voters approved Measure F-14 ten years ago to fund vital investments in our community,
focusing especially on neighborhood roads. Since then, the City has kept its promise by making
major road repairs year after year, improving the overall condition of roads in the City - and a
citizen oversight committee can affirm the promise has been kept.
Your YES vote on Measure _-24 will simply extend the existing sales tax measure when it
expires so the City can continue making investments in our community, including vital services
and streets. This is not a tax increase.
One key benefit of these street improvements is improving neighborhood emergency evacuation
routes, as wildfire risks increase. Additionally, street repairs may replace aging culverts to
handle storm drainage. These investments make our neighborhoods safer and more resilient.
These funds will stay local in Atascadero for investing in our city -owned streets. The County and
Sacramento politicians can't yank these funds away from us. Measure _-24 also continues our
longstanding citizen oversight committee that ensures the City is responsible for utilizing these
taxpayer funds properly, in alignment with the priorities expressed by voters.
Thanks to funding started with Measure F-14, Atascadero's infrastructure has improved
significantly, all while the City has sustained other vital services like police, fire, parks
programming and more. Quality infrastructure can save residents money and makes our lives
better. Our community is worthy of this investment. Without Measure — -24, the City can't afford
to sustain these improvements and roads will quickly begin deteriorating again.
Small businesses, good government advocates, elected leaders and neighbors agree that
Measure -24 is a critical extension of F-14 that funds vital needs.
