City Clerk Christensen,
Please pass on my thoughts to all Council members
regarding the TMD Board discussion scheduled tonight.
As you know, I’ve been an advocate
for Atascadero’s par cipa on in our County’s Regional Tourism market.
It is a cri cal part of our City’s Economic Development strategy.
We’ve done well!
We’ve con nuously trended upward on Transient Occupancy revenue,
And have great poten al for expanded growth.
I greatly respect Amar Sohi as a colleague on the Atascadero Tourism Board.
He is the longest standing member on the current Board and has served as
Chairperson in the past.
He has a wealth of experience as owner of one of our highest rated hotels in the
area.
He par cipates on numerous business and community organiza ons in leadership
roles.
He currently serves as the Vice President of the TMD Board, and if re-appointed by
your Council tonight,
Is likely to become its next Chairperson. This would be an honor for our
community!
Please accept my unequivocal recommenda on for Amar Sohi
as your appointment to the SLO Co. TMD Board.
