Subject: Sonic Drive thru/ Oct 13 agenda meeting ( No agenda# found)
To all it concerns,
I am writing to voice large concerns over the proposal to open a Sonic drive through directly adjacent to my property
APN #049-225-029 which is a residential property of apartments.
I believe the proposed design which leaves a direct gateway from the restaurant to our parking area would create a
constant disturbance and elevated crime and homeless presence which we have recently just managed to get under
control. There is no dividing wall or gate between the two properties because of a city easement ( I believe), and this is
my main concern for my residents safety. We have dealt with wanderers and homeless infiltrating our private property
and vandalism from their presence becaus6of the lack of a barrier between properties.
Another concern with putting a popular drive thru chain directly next to residential living spaces is the noise and trash
problems that accompany such businesses. KFC closed at a reasonable time (8pm I believe), however Sonic's hours of
operation go well into late night hours. This would completely change the quality of life and safety of all the tenants and
negatively impact my business.
Therefore, I am against the installation of a Sonic restaurant and drive through unless drastic design and operational
hour changes are implemented to protect my tenants and business safety.
