I appreciate the difficult task that the Community Developement Department and planning department have
in making decisions on the many different aspects of growth in our town of Atascadero. Thank you for the
time and effort made in keeping this community a great place to live.
Thank you for the zoom webinar meeting held on March 23, 2022. The presentation was informative and well
put together. I was unable to comment at that meeting but was very glad to hear that the plans were to be
sent back for review. I would like to agree with the concerns of my neighbors regarding the structure
proposed to be built at the above address. The structure is outsized for the surrounding neighborhood and
would be comparable to putting an elephant in the meercat habitat. Also I fear that the usage of a structure
that size would not be in keeping with the domestic aspect of a residential community. If there were any
commercial scale activities performed in a shop of that size the potential noise and traffic flow would be a
detrement to the neighborhood.
I understand that all of us at one time or another push the limits of the law, whether in building a slightly out -
of -compliance shed or by exceeding the speed limit by a few miles per hour, but it is my opinion that the
owner of this property has pushed the limits too far with the plans for this proposed oversized structure. It is
my hope that the proposed building would be held to the standards of the regulations already in place for this
community of Atascadero.

Subject: Oversized structure at 7705/7707 San Gabriel rd (use21-0113)
In reference to this oversized structure, we feel that it should not be approved. A oversized structure is not appealing to
our Nieghborhood! The area is residential not industrial!!! We feel that if this approved that it will eventually turn in a
business and degrade our property value. Please do not approve this oversized building. The purposed site for the
structure is right on the major corner of our neighborhood. And it would not be aesthetically appealing to the ones of us
that would have to look at it day after day! This is a neighborhood and a oversized shop should not be allowed! We are
very much against a oversized shop! Thank you!!
