RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ATASCADERO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE ATASCADERO
POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PARTICIPATE IN A MULTIAGENCY
TRAFFIC SAFETY/ENFORCEMENT GRANT
WHEREAS, the California Highway Patrol has received grant funds for the
creation of a multiagency SR 41 and 46 Traffic Safety Corridor Project Task Force;
and
WHEREAS, State Routes 41 and 46 from U.S. 101 to their intersections with
Interstate 5 have bee identified as the corridor for which a Safety Action Plan is to be
developed; and
WHEREAS, the grant allows funds for law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, the Task Force has agreed that increasing law enforcement is an
important element in improving traffic safety on the corridor.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Atascadero does hereby authorize the Atascadero Police Department to participate in
the grant and authorizes the Mayor to sign the participation agreement.
On motion by Councilperson Johnson and seconded by Councilperson Luna,
the foregoing Resolution is hereby adopted in its entirety on the following roll call
vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Bewley, Carden, Johnson, Luna and Mayor Highland
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
