RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ATASCADERO, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING ONE CITIZEN
TO SERVE AS THE CITY TREASURER
WHEREAS, the voters of the City of Atascadero duly elect a City Treasurer
every fours year; and
WHEREAS, Muriel C. "Micki" Korba was re-elected to a four-year term in June
of 1994; and
WHEREAS, the elected City Treasurer has vacated the office by her resignation
effective October 1, 1995; and
WHEREAS, Government Code §36512 requires that the City Council shall,
within 30 days from the commencement of the vacancy, either fill the vacancy by
appointment or call a special election to fill the vacancy; and
WHEREAS, following direction given by the City Council, the City Clerk
conducted a recruitment and solicited applications from members of the public
interested in serving as the City Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk did receive five (5) applications for consideration; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did, on October 10, 1995, interview and consider
the candidates for appointment to the position of City Treasurer and did then cast
their vote.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Atascadero does hereby
resolve to appoint the following citizen to serve the unexpired term of the City
Treasurer; ,said term to expire in November of 1998:
Rudy Hernandez
On motion by Councilperson Luna and seconded by Councilperson Carden, the
foregoing Resolution is hereby adopted in its entirety on the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Carden, Johnson, Luna and Mayor Highland
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmember Bewley
