HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 127-92 RESOLUTION NO. 127-92 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ATASCADERO SUPPORTING THE PROPOSED FEDERAL MANDATE RELIEF ACT OF 1993 WHEREAS, Unfunded Federal mandates on state and local governments have become increasingly extensive in recent years; and WHEREAS, Such mandates have, in many instances, added to growing deficits in state and local budgets and have resulted in the need for state and local governments to increase revenue or curtail services; and WHEREAS, Such excessive fiscal burdens on state and local governments have undermined, in many instances, the ability of state and local governments to achieve their responsibilities under state and local law. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the City of Atascadero does hereby endorse the efforts of Congressman Gary Condit to have the Federal Government accept full responsibility for paying the direct costs incurred by state and local governments in complying with legislative mandates. On Motion by Councilmember Luna , seconded by Council member Kudlac , the foregoing resolution is hereby adopted on the following roll-call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Bewley, Borgeson, Kudlac, Luna and Mayor Nimmo NOES: None ABSENT: None ADOPTED: December 8, 1992 ATT T: CITY OF ATASCADERO . .
