RESOLUTION NO. 73-92
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ATASCADERO, CALIFORNIA
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF LETTERS OF UNDERSTANDING
WITH EACH OF ITS EMPLOYEE ORGANIZATIONS
AND A REPORT ON THE REVENUE ENHANCEMENT MEASURES
WHEREAS, Due to the current economic situation, the City is
faced with a revenue shortfall which could impact the provision of
City services; and
WHEREAS, The State of California is still seeking to take a
very significant amount of the City's annual revenue to cover the
State' s revenue shortfall; and
WHEREAS, City employee representatives and City management
representatives, recognizing the gravity of the situation, have met
to discuss how to address the City's economic constraints; and
WHEREAS, Through these meetings a consensus was achieved
whereby the City could meet its current shortfall, provide City
services, avoid potential lay-offs, maximize cost efficiency and
explore new revenue sources;
NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Atascadero,
California resolves as follows:
1. The Mayor or, in the Mayor's absence, the City Manager is
hereby authorized to execute the Letters of Understanding
attached hereto as Exhibit A.
2. The staff is hereby directed to report to the City Coun-
cil regarding all proposed revenue enhancement measures
set forth in the report.
On motion by Councilmember Kudlac, seconded by Councilmember
Luna, the foregoing resolution is hereby adopted in its entirety on
the following roll-call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Borgeson, Bewley, Kudlac, Luna and Mayor
Nimmo
