RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ATASCADERO WAIVING FEES FOR DOWNTOWN AWNING
INSTALLATION INSTALLED PURSUANT TO THE "DOWNTOWN SIGN PROGRAM"
WHEREAS, the City Council has appointed the Interim Downtown
Sign Committee to develop a program appropriate to the downtown
area; and
WHEREAS, said Committee has developed a program to provide for
strong visual unity within the Colony business district; and
WHEREAS, central to this goal, the Committee has proposed
using awnings to create a unifying theme and to address the unique
architecture of the downtown involving use of dark green and creme
awnings; and
WHEREAS, the City Council encourages individual owners and
business persons to implement this program.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Atascadero does
resolve as follows:
1. Resolution No. 5-85 establishing fees for permits
pursuant to building and construction regulations is
hereby amended by addition of the following exception:
Exception: The fees for Downtown Sign Program Awning
Installations - No fee
On motion by Councilman Dexter , and seconded by Coun-
cilman Nimmo , the foregoing resolution is hereby adopted in its
entirety on the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Borgeson, Dexter, Lilley, Nimmo and Mayor
Shiers
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
