RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ATASCADERO
REGARDING PREPARATION AND SUBMITTAL OF SOURCE REDUCTION
AND RECYCLING ELEMENTS, HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE ELEMENT,
AND RELATED ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORTS
WHEREAS, the Cities and the County of San Luis Obispo have
joined together under a Memorandum of Agreement with the San Luis
Obispo Area Coordinating Council to prepare and adopt Source
Reduction and Recycling Elements (SRREs) and Household Hazardous
Waste Element (HHWE) based upon a regional approach; and
WHEREAS, the Cities and the County of San Luis Obispo have
begun preparation of Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs) on the
proposed Source Reduction and Recycling Elements, and Household
Hazardous Waste Elements; and
WHEREAS, the preparation and adoption of these Environmental
Impact Reports, and associated processing timeframes, will require
that the communities acting together in this effort continue to
meet and confer on the impacts associated with the proposed
programs and facilities that will be required to meet the demands
of AB 939; and
WHEREAS, State Law requires notification of the Integrated
Waste Management Board as to the local jurisdiction's intentions
regarding the nature and timing on local approval of SRREs, HHWE
and the associated environmental documentation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the San Luis Obispo Area
Coordinating Council, on behalf of the City of Atascadero, is in
the process of preparing an Environmental Impact Report on the
proposed SRREs and HHWEs, and will be submitting the required
documents to the Integrated Waste Management Board prior to
December 1, 1991, or otherstatutory deadlines that may be
_established for the submittal of plans required by AB 939 and AB
1820 that are subject to the preparation of EIRs.
On motion by Councilperson Lilley and seconded by
Councilperson Nimmo, the foregoing resolution passes on the
following roll call vote.

Shiers
