RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ATASCADERO
AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
TO BID THE
SYCAMORE BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, The existing Sycamore Road bridge over Atascadero
Creek is an antiquated structure that requires replacement; and
WHEREAS, The City has successfully pursued and received a
commitment of Federal participation in the funding of the
construction of a replacement bridge from the Federal Highway
Administration Bridge Replacement Program; and
WHEREAS, The City has caused to be prepared plans and
specifications for the construction of a replacement bridge.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1. The Department of Public Works is hereby authorized to
bid the Sycamore Road Bridge replacement project.
2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate with
and hire a bridge inspector consistent with the City's
State approved construction administration procedure.
3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
additional agreements or commitments required by the
State Department of Transportation or the Federal
Highway Administration up to but not including the
award of the contract.
On motion by Councilperson Borgeson , seconded by
Councilperson Shiers , the foregoing resolution is passed on
the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Shiers, Borgeson, Lilley and Mayor Dexter
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilwoman Mackey
