RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ATASCADERO REDUCING THE SPEED
LIMIT ON SANTA LUCIA AVENUE BETWEN ARDILLA
AVENUE AND SAN ANDRES AVENUE
WHEREAS , Section 4 .2 ,502 (b) of the Atascadero
Municipal Code allows the City Traffic Engineer to
determine the appropriate speed limit for streets within
the City of Atascadero ; and
WHEREAS , the Atascadero Traffic Committee has
requested that the speed limit on this section of Santa
Lucia Avenue be reduced to 25 MPH, when children are
present ; and
WHEREAS, a speed limit of 25 MPH is considered the
prima facia speed in a school zone .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of
Atascadero directs the Traffic Engineer to cause the speed
limit on Santa Lucia from Ardi.11a Avenue to San Andres-
Avenue
ndresAvenue to be reduced to 25 MPH, when children are present .
On Motion by Councilman Borgeson ,and seconded
by Councilman Mackey , the foregoing Resolution is
hereby adopted in its entirety on the following roll call
vote :
AYES : Councilmembers Lilley,`:'Shiers, Borgeson, Mackey and Mayor Dexter
NOES : None
ABSENT : None
