RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ATASCADERO REDUCING THE SPEED
LIMIT ON SAN ANDRES AVENUE BETWEEN SANTA
LUCIA ROAD AND SANTA YNEZ AVENUE
WHEREAS, Section 4 .2 .502 (b) of the Atascadero
Municipal Code allows the City Traffic Engineer to
determine the appropriate speed limit for streets within
the City of Atascadero ; and
WHEREAS, the Atascadero Traffic Committee has
requested that the speed limit on this section of San
Andres Avenue be reduced to 25 MPH, when children are
present ; and
WHEREAS, a speed limit of 25 MPH is considered the
prima facia speed in a school zone .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of
Atascadero directs the Traffic Engineer to cause the speed
limit on San Andres from Santa Lucia to Santa Ynez to be
reduced to 25 MPH, when children are present ,
On Motion by Councilman BORGESON ,and seconded
by Councilman MACKEY ,the foregoing Resolution is
hereby adopted in its entirety on the following roll call
vote :
AYES : COUNCILMEMBERS BORGESON, LILLEY, MACKEY, SHIERS AND MAYOR DEXTER
NOES : NONE
ABSENT : NONE
