RESOLUTION OF THE ATASCADERO CITY COUNCIL
RATIFYING THE PROCLAMATION OF A STATE OF LOCAL EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the City of Atascadero ' s Emergency Operations
Plan (Resolution 101-88) , empowers the City Council to proclaim
the existence or threatened existence of a local emergency when
said City is affected or likely to be affected by public
calamity; and
WHEREAS, said City Council has been requested by the
Director of Emergency Services of said City to proclaim the
existence of a threatened local emergency therein; and
WHEREAS, said City council does hereby find :
That emergency conditions have arisen within said City,
caused by a freak snow storm which has destroyed an excessive
number of trees and tree limbs throughout the community causing
vehicular and other hazards to life and property, commencing an
or about 12:00 a.m. , on the _15th day of December, 19ee; and
That the aforesaid conditions of extreme peril warrant
and necessitate the proclamation of the existence of 'a local
emergency;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS 'HEREBY PROCLAIMED that a local
emergency now exists throughout said City; and
IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that during the
existence of said local emergency the powers, functions and
duties of the .Director of Emergency Services and the emergency
organization of this City shall be thoseprescribed by State law
and by ordinance of this City, approved by the City Council on
12/21/88.
IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED thatsaidlocal
emergency shall be deemed to continue to exist until. its

termination is proclaimed by the City Council of the City of
Atascadero , State of California.
On motion by Councilperson Dexter and seconded
by Councilper on Mackey , the foregoing resolution
is hereby adopted in its entirety on the following roll call
vote.
AYES: Councilman Dexter and Shiers, Councilwoman Mackey and Mayor Borgeson
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Lilley (Excused)
