RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATASCADERO
PROCLAIMING A STATE OF LOCAL EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the City of Atascadero' s Emergency Operations
Plan (Resolution 101-88) , empowers the Director ofEmergency
Services to proclaim the existence or threatened existence by a
public calamity and the City Council is not in session; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Services of the City
of Atascadero "does hereby find ;
That conditions of extreme peril to the safety of
persons and property, primarily from tree and tree limb
destruction, have arisen in said City caused by a freak and
excessive snow; storm; and
That theCityCouncil of the City of Atascadero was
unavailable to act in public until 12/21/88;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED` that a local
emergency now exists throughout said City,; and
I`T IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that during the
existence of said local emergency the powers, functions and
duties of the emergency organization in this City shall be those
described by State law by ordinance of this City and by the
County of San Luis Obispo` Emergency Plan, as approved by, the
Board of Supervisors in 1974.
On motion by Councilperson Markey and seconded
by Councilperson Shiers , the foregoing',resolution
is hereby adopted in its entirety on the following roll call
vote:
AYES: Councilman Shiers,and Dexter, Councilwoman Mackey and Mayor Borgeson
NOES None
ABSENT Councilman Lilley '(Excused)
