RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO TO CONSOLIDATE A
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF THE CITY OF ATASCADERO
TO BE HELD ON JUNE 7, 1988 WITH THE STATEWIDE PRIMARY
ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THAT DATE, PURSUANT TO
SECTION 23302 OF THE ELECTIONS CODE
WHEREAS, the Atascadero City Council will hold a General
Municipal Election in the City of Atascadero on June 7, 198B, for
the purpose of the election of three members of the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that the General Municipal Election
be consolidated with the Statewide Primary Election to be held on
the same date and that within the City of Atascadero the
precincts, polling places and election officers of the two
elections be the same, and that the San Luis Obispo County Clerk
canvass the returns of the General Municipal Election and that
the election be held in all respects as if there were only one
election.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE ATASCADERO CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . That pursuant to the requirements of Section
23302 of the Elections Code, the San Luis Obispo County Board of
Supervisors is hereby requested to consent and agree to the
consolidation of a General Municipal Election with the Statewide
Primary Election on Tuesday, the 7th of June, 1988 for the
purpose of the election of three members of the City Council .
SECTION 2. That the County Clerk is hereby authorized to
canvass the returns of said General Municipal Election. The
election shall be held in all respects as if there were only one
election, and only one ,form of ballot shall be used .
SECTION 3. That the Board of Supervisors is hereby
requested to issue instructions to the County Clerk to take any
and all steps necessary for the holding of said consolidated
election.
SECTION 4. That the City of Atascadero recognizes that
additional costs will be incurred by the County by reason of this
consolidation and agrees to reimburse the County for any such
costs.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk of the City of Atascadero is
hereby directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with
the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors and County Clerk .

SECTION b. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of
original resolutions.
On motion by Councilmember Ro=hPa„ , seconded by
Councilmember Mackey , the Atascadero City Council hereby
adopts the foregoing resolution in its entirety on the following
roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Bourbeau, Handshy, Borgeson, Mackey, and
Mayor Norris

None
ABSENT: None
